Winter Formal has been a valued school dance at Central for years. This year the dance takes place on Feb. 15 at the Field Club of Omaha from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The theme is “Winter in Paris.”
In order to be invited this year, students had to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and no behavioral issues. If they want to go but haven’t officially been invited, guest forms are available in the main office. To be invited as a guest, a student who was officially invited needs to fill out a guest form. Both students would fill out the needed information and send it off to their administrators.
Like other school events, Winter Formal decisions are heavily influenced by Student Council. With the exception of homecoming, Winter Formal is the event Student Council members start working on very early in the school year. During meetings they get together to pitch ideas, decide the theme and other small things to help ensure the event is the best it can be.
Student Council member Victoria Cayetano said Student Council is very proud to present this year’s dance. “I personally love the theme, Winter in Paris. It’s simultaneously a simple yet very cute theme that you could do numerous things with,” Cayetano said.
Upon arrival, students can expect a well-decorated and put-together event. “For the venue, which is at the Field Club this year, I think sets an extra feeling of excitement for students attending this event with all the alluring decorations,” Cayetano said.
With all the information coming out about Winter Formal, junior Jaiden Harvey is very thrilled to attend this year. “I am very looking forward to Winter Formal this year especially because of the theme, Winter in Paris,” Harvey said. The venue change is another reason for her excitement. “This dance should also be an upgrade because there will be more space than last year, it was a little cramped,” Harvey said.
One main thing she looks forward to at this event is dancing and taking pictures with her friends. She hopes this event is like other past events, if not better.
